Hi,

That sounds like a great start, and it’s good that you’re being thorough with your revision resources. As long as your method works for you and helps you remember the content, there isn’t really such a thing as too many or too few flashcards. Everyone’s study style is different, so what matters most is that your cards are effective for your learning.

It’s worth making sure each card focuses on key information rather than large chunks of text. Flashcards tend to work best when they test your understanding e.g., definitions, processes, or links between concepts like monomers and polymers, and the structure and function of biological molecules. I find a simple Q&A format is really effective for active recall.

Good luck with your studies

That is an enormous amount of flashcards - congratulations and well done if you are able to keep on top of them all and remember the majority of the content. I would argue it's not feasible for a typical student to replicate that across all of their topics.

It might be a good idea to prioritise the cards, so that only those which are the most 'valuable' content are learnt, and the rest are set aside as bonus cards for when there is time, sorted by increasing likelihood of value to the exam.

STEMpathy was written for OCR Bio specifically, and the flashcards for each of their topic are only 1 to 2 dozens, reflecting the most essential information for comprehension, recall and application in exams.

Thanks I've just had my test on biological molecules and so I learnt all my flashcards and the test was very easy but i felt as though i wasn't tested on almost 90% of my flashcards even though all the test was on biological molecules

There often aren’t many past exam questions on exclusively the subtopics taught at the start of a level if that helps to explain it, dont worry, your hard work will not be wasted!

Flashcards for terns connect with biological molecules is a decent use, for their structure themselves, it isn't . I rather worked on questions in terms of that.
