That's so interesting - sounds as if you're really enjoying your course though - good for you!
So in the end, in your case, was there value in adding some criminology/forensics choices onto your application? :beard:

Yes I'd say there was value in it as I wasn't sure what I was going to go for in the end as originally had down for deferred entry (which I later changed) and was contemplating not going to uni all together so due to the uncertainty I think it was good for me to have the different things so that I could think and choose

The course you study is pretty irrelevant in both fields. Investment banking firms / big finance stuff in London have some large recruitment processes. Some of them have shortlists of target universities they recruit from (which makes this industry the rare rare exception compared to the rest of the UK) but the subject you study often isn't a factor in this to the best of my knowledge.

Similarly for law, where you'd be looking at professional law courses for after graduation, the subject you've done before isn't necessarily a game changer. Whilst lots of successful applicants to these courses chose to do a law degree, many don't and it's not a requirement. Lots of big law firms now recruit uni-blind as well, so the institution you attend matters less too. Now, one thing to factor in is whether some uni courses might help prepare you for doing law better than others. So you may wish to consider how you can be kind to future you and give them some of the skills that will better align with your ambitions.

The last thing I would say is, this is at least 3 years of your life where you need to study independently, often without a lot of guidance from teaching staff. If you aren't motivated by that subject, you're going to have a miserable time. I would choose to degree that I really feel I could enjoy studying solo for 3 years.

I have advised you already that for law this is no longer the case.

For finance sadly it is still true.

You can read each uni's attitude towards GCSEs on their website but in the vast majority of cases of you've passed English and Maths then the rest doesn't make a tangible difference to your application.

From the rest of your stats it looks like you have a very competitive application
