First Thoughts as a Final Year at Kingston BA Fashion

Hello Everyone!
Just thought I should share some of my first impressions on how I am feeling and some of the projects I am starting in my final year at university.

We received a summer project in the beginning of August so even before Welcome Week started, many of us were already in the library researching and developing ideas for our final graduate collection 🙃.
The third and final year of university is split into three major components being: Final Major Project (Pre-collection + Graduate Collection), an Independent Research Project (which usually takes the form of a written dissertation) and a competition project set by the British Fashion Council.

In the final year in Kingston, you may also choose to be in a specialist tutor group (eg. Knit, Print or CLO3d). I have chosen to be in a CLO3D group and am excited to learn more about digital fashion and interested in using it in my final portfolio 🤭.
It has been a crazy first two weeks trying to stay on top of all my work as well as determine my creative direction and focus for all my projects!
All in all, I am a ball of excitement and nerves for the weeks ahead🤧.

My name is Zhi En from Kingston University! I am an international third year student at Kingston’s Fashion design course and have just come back from an amazing placement year in industry. My time as a student has been incredible, learning new skills, developing my voice and making new friends along the way.
