Do lectures at the University of Kent last for 2 whole hours?
I'm worried because I have two lectures in row from 12-14 and 14-16 and am worried if I can get to my second lecture in time. Do we have a short break to move classrooms?

Hi,
I hope you are well!😊

This is a really good question, and one I had thought of as a student too! 🙂

The new approach to timetabling means that lecture, seminar and workshop time slots are longer than they used to be. I have some two hour slots for my lectures and seminars, and each slot will be used by the lecturer or staff member as they plan for their teaching.

Have you checked the rooms of each of your classes as they may be in the same building or room? I have a few like this. If not, don't worry! Staff will be aware that students are finding their way around a new campus, and staff will be aware that students may be in other classes before theirs. If you find yourself arriving a little bit late, it's okay, just let the staff member know. In addition, during my undergraduate, some of my lecturers finished their teaching a few minutes early to allow you to get to your next one. I'm sure by the end of your first or second week you will get the hang of things, and if you have any worries let your tutor or lecturer know😊

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,
Josie
