am i being too ambitious? (mech eng)
im predicted A* maths, A german, B physics
im applying to:
2 of leeds, sheffield, or durham (A*AA entry for MEng and BEng)
2 of newcastle, liverpool, or lancaster (AAB and ABB for MEng and BEng respectively)
and hull as a safety (128 UCAS points MEng)
am i being too ambitious with my choices given that im not eligible for contextuals??

sounds like you've got a good variety of choices entry requirement wise, i had a pretty similar thing when applying with some places slightly above my current grades, some i was meeting and some i was exceeding 😊
any choices above your current predicted, i'd email the unis directly to ask about the application process, they will be able to explain how they'd treat an application from you, this would just be based on grades (excluding ps, interveiws, basically any extra things relating to your application) - but would allow them to clarify if an offer could be made based on grades so you arent worrying about wasting spaces!

Not Durham. And I'd suggest that you pick only one of the other two - they are asking for top grades because they know they can get them, and that means you could easily be rejected from both. And, forget the fixation with RG - Loughborough (AAB) has one of the best Mech courses in the UK Mechanical Engineering BEng | Undergraduate study | Loughborough University
