2nd year living?

I’ve started uca Farnham in September (currently in campus accom rn) and I’m planning to get a studio either in Guildford or Aldershot in 2nd year. Just wondering when/ where is the best time to start looking. If you’ve rented a studio or lived in that area would appreciate any advice thx (:

Prob as early as Jan (if poss). This is because other students like Uni of Surrey would likely be looking for accom in the Guildford area too.

I don't know about Guildford/Aldershot specifically, but my private studio accommodation usually opens for general booking around late November or early December. Re-bookers usually get priority over new tenants, with re-booking opening a few weeks prior (late October) to general booking.
If you're keen to secure a studio soon, I would definitely start looking or enquiring now. If you don't plan to book through a private student accommodation provider (e.g. Fresh/Unite/iQ), your university's accommodation team might have some useful advice/a list of reputable landlords in the area.
