Uni of Cambridge Colleges

I’m planning to apply for the Architecture course at Cambridge, but I’m unsure which college to choose. I’m considering submitting an open application, as it seems like a safe option. However, I’m not entirely sure what this involves, like are there any disadvantages to applying this way?

There shouldn't be any disadvantage from putting in an open application. My main advice would be to check if there are any colleges you really don't like the look of - if there are any, probably best not to do an open application. If anything, pick a random college out of the ones you do like, but if you get randomly allocated to a college you dislike you might regret that open application.

Keep in mind that a large number of applicants get pooled anyway, so even if you do apply to a specific college there's still some chance involved.
