Can they force him to change courses?
My son 17 just started a level 2 course, he is finding it tough but wants to do it. College are trying to get him to drop down to level 1. He doesn’t want to, he’s got the grades to do level 2. My question is can they make him?

No, the college can't force your son to do any course he doesn't want to. At the end of the day, he could just not attend (im sure he wouldn't do that of course but hypothetically he could), but in general your son could/should insist on doing level 2 if that's what he wants. Hope this helps
