Deleting UCAS reference before the application has been submitted
Hello, I'm writing on behalf of my daughter who is currently working on her UCAS application as an independent candidate. Her UCAS form says that her reference has been submitted but she hasn't sent the link to her referee and her referee confirms that she has never received the reference link and has not submitted a reference. Possibly there has been a mistake and another teacher has somehow received the link and has submitted something. Is it possible to remove whatever is currently attached to her application and replace it with the correct reference from her designated referee? The application hasn't been submitted to UCAS yet.

She needs to phone UCAS - they can see whats gone on in the background of her application - 0371 468 0 468 - Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm.

Hi there,
Since your daughter’s UCAS application hasn’t been submitted yet, it should still be possible to make changes to the reference section.
However, UCAS doesn’t allow applicants themselves to edit or remove a reference once it’s been added this can only be done by the referee or the centre that manages her application.
If she’s applying as an independent candidate, she’ll need to contact UCAS directly (through their customer support) and explain that the wrong reference has been attached in error. They’ll be able to remove it and allow her to resend the referee link to the correct person.
It’s best to do this as soon as possible so the correction can be made before she submits the application. There's no need to rush too much as there is still a decent length of time before the January deadline, but making sure this get's resolved early is best.
