Student finance delay

Hi.

My course started on Saturday the 4th October and I haven't yet heard back about my student loan. It seems to be at a standstill and has been stuck on processing application for at least 7 weeks and no sign of it being moved to reviewing evidence. Does anyone know what happens if I am refused? Can I cancel my course and not have to pay anything? I'm worried now that the course has actually started that I am liable for fees if the loan doesn't come through.

Thank you.

Good afternoon,

I recommend contacting your university's support service and requesting assistance from their financial team, as they will be able to provide guidance on this matter.

Additionally, you can contact Student Finance England directly.

All the best,

Traditionally, if everything has been approved, it would be delayed until the university has confirmed that you are in attendance of the module you are studying. This could be up to the end of the month. It is quite nerve wracking when having to wait for this to happen, but this is standard practice.
I would suggest just waiting until the end of the month and see what happens. If not happens by that stage, speak to both SF and the OU staff team to establish what is going on.
