Postgraduate PhD Loan After Year 1
Hi,
I am currently studying a PhD Course that started in 2022, and wanted to know the best way to apply for the doctoral loan just for my final year - this is something that is apparently possible as stated on https://www.gov.uk/doctoral-loan ('You can apply for a Postgraduate Doctoral Loan in any year of your course. But if you apply after your first year, you might not get the maximum amount.') but when I tried to apply on line there was no option to select a starting date before 2024. Any advice appreciated!

Hi there. You would need to make a paper applicaiton in this case. As there is no option to apply online for 2022 anymore. Did the course start in September 2022? Thanks, Leah.

Since this is an older form it's not available online in the usual way, but don't worry.
Please call our Postgraduate team on 0300 100 0031: they'll be able to post or e-mail you the form you need.
