CCCU Alumni? Your Legal Career Starts Here with Exclusive Support from CCCU

If you’re a Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) student or graduate, your journey to qualification just became easier, smarter, and more affordable.

Why Law?

Law isn’t just a profession. It is a combination of intellectual challenge, financial reward, and the chance to make a real impact. Solicitors help shape justice, guide businesses, and support people when they need it most.

So, what’s changed?
The current Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) will be phased out over the coming months, making the SQE the sole remaining route to qualification as a solicitor.

The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is now the official pathway to becoming a solicitor in England and Wales. It replaces the old LPC and GDL routes and includes two stages.
Stage 1 is the SQE1. This tests your legal knowledge through multiple-choice questions.
Stage 2 Is the SQE2. This assesses your practical legal skills, including advocacy, client interviewing, and legal writing.

You’ll also need Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) to complete your training, but with the right support, it’s all within reach.

How can CCCU help you?

With EXCLUSIVE benefits, through either a discounted fee for both courses, and we even provide two fully funded scholarships! A 20% discount on SQ1’s course fees and £500 off SQ2’s as well. For the scholarships, each year, CCCU’s School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences awards two full scholarships for BARBRI’s SQE1 prep course to top-performing final year law students.
