Re: funding - check with SFE but the current model as I understand it is:
For 4 year accelerated graduate entry medicine courses: you self pay the first ~£3000 of the first year tuition fees, and receive a reduced tuition fee loan for the remainder, plus the standard maintenance loan. For years 2-4 you're funded by NHS bursary for tuition fees (in full) and maintenance costs (I'm not sure the exact amount but believe it's not as high as a maintenance loan0 but can also apply for a means tested reduced maintenance loan to "top up" the amount you get for maintenance costs.
For a 5/6 year standard entry course, you can get maintenance loan only for the first 4 years and need to self fund tuition fees, then years 5-6 you get the same NHS bursary model.
So it's a lot more cost effective to go for the accelerated courses. Although either way there is a direct cost to yourself for at least one year.
