EU student with PSS end date and forms

I am an EU citizen with a Pre-Settled Status, habitually resident in England for nearly 5 years.

I have enrolled in an undergraduate degree and I am trying to figure out how to apply to student finance for a Student Loan.

1. Apparently I cannot apply online and need to fill a paper application. I have found 2 possible application forms.
One is this one : https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/68c1a07deeb238b20672a961/eu_eu25n_form_2526_o.pdf
The other is this one : https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/67d85b3479f0d993dfb11fcb/eu_tfl_request_form_2526_o.pdf

Which one should I fill considering that I also want to make an application for a Disabled Student Allowance?

2. Same with the Disabled Student Allowance there are two forms, DSA1 (full form) and DSA Slim. Notes say if you also apply for a student loan you should fill DSA Slim but Open University advises to fill DSA1 so I am confused.

Should I fill DSA1 or DSA Slim?

3. Finally, my pre-settled status end date is in November 2025, during this academic year that I am applying for funding. The government has extended every pre-settled status for 5 more years, so in reality my pre-settled status no longer expires (and I will obtain Settled Status in November 2025 anyway). Yet so far all the information I have found about eligibility for funding says that I would not be eligible if my pre-settled status ends during the academic year I am applying for funding and both application forms do require my pre-settled status end date.

What is happening exactly? I am thinking about attaching as evidence the email I received from the Home Office about my pre-settled status extension, would that be enough for me to be eligible? Will they consider it?

Hi there,

1.

The correct form to use is the first one, the EU25N

2.

You won't be eligible for DSA since you have pre-settled status, unfortunately. If you get settled status, or apply as a Migrant Worker, you may be eligible then.

3.

Normally, we check your details with the Home Office directly: so we'll be able to confirm any extension ourselves, don't worry.

Thanks, Graeme
