Grad job autism discrimination

Hi does anyone have experience of being treated in a passive agressive way at work because they are autistic? I have autism and have just started a new job but have met a manager who hasn't got to know me yet but has assumed that I'm not up to the job. She's very passive aggressive and I've heard her say derogatory things about me and my autism, She doesn't know me yet and I have been nothing but smiley, polite and helpful. If you've been in a similar situation, how did you deal with it from a confidence and an emotional point of view? I am reluctant to talk to her about it or report it because I am brand new and she is my boss twice over, with a 10 year tenure

Oh boy, that sounds really tough, and I feel for you having to deal with it. It's hard enough trying to get yourself set up without having to face discrimination, too. It's totally unfair, and you're absolutely right to feel the way you do.

It is hard and I can't talk to anyone at work about it because I'm new and she's my bosses boss. I'm scared honestly because I have bills to pay aswell

Sorry to hear about this. It’s a very tricky situation. You could try speaking to your boss about how you are feeling.Or if you don’t think that will help, join a trade union and get some advice
