Dental hyg TEESSIDE Jan 26 intake

Anyone been accepted for the dental hyg course Jan intake? Since the confirmation from the uni and ucas, I haven't heard anything yet. I'm so eager to get started. Any ideas on accommodation, when we'll get our student email address, timetables and assessments for hep b etc? I've applied for student loan but that also seems to take some time.

Hi there,

I’ve also had a conditional offer for January and am wondering about accommodation.

I know the university has accommodation but some of the en-suite double rooms are a little pricey!

Would be great to hear what other people are deciding 🙂

Great thanks for that, now it's just the accommodation. I'm looking into private rented accommodation because it seems much cheaper than student halls. My worry is the electric bills and if they'll be monitoring use of heaters and stuff like that (I hate a cold house 🙈)

Hi there!

Great to hear you've been accepted for our dental hygiene course! 🦷

Click here to find out everything you need to know about our accommodation. Options start from £100 a week with all bills included! So no need to worry about heating costs. All our accommodation is within around a 5 minute walk from campus too.

I hope that helps, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all 😄

Thanks,
G

Thank you for that, I have had a look and it says I'll get an email telling me how to set up my student account. I haven't received this yet. When should I expect this?
Hi there,
It's probably still a bit early yet, it would be a few weeks before. If you check your junk email as well as sometimes emails go there by mistake 😊

Hi! I’ve been accepted for January also, looking into private accommodation at the minute as I’m from Newcastle and have just decided I can’t face the drive every day! Are you sorted yet? I’m finding it difficult with the January start and I also can’t face sharing a bathroom but I think I’ve found something! Going to view tomorrow! Hopefully we’ll hear more from the uni soon!

Hi!

I’m also starting in January, have been struggling a bit (but left things last minute!) but think I’ve found a good option that I’m going to view tomorrow! Are you sorted yet?

Hey!
Yeah I think I’ve found a little studio apartment a 10 min walk away from the university 🙂
How did the viewing go?

Hello!
Oh that’s great! The viewing was good thanks, found a lovely landlord who my friend rented from a few years ago and has nothing but nice things to say about! Pleased to be sorted! Hope you are too! Xx

Hey Chloe, I’m also starting in Jan, it’s great you have managed to find a studio, I’m desperately looking for a studio too but can’t seem to find anything, was offered a place in one of the Uni Halls but declined it due to not wanting to share a bathroom! I will keep looking and hope I sort something soon as it’s giving me anxiety!

Hey!
Yeah I also declined because I didn’t want to share a bathroom. I found my studio flat on rightmove and there’s still quite a few on there at the moment 🙂 I would be happy to send you the details but I think student room would block my message

No worries, I think I have finally managed to find a studio 😊 which is also about a 10min walk from the Uni, wasn’t able to view in person as I’m in London, but did do a virtual viewing and it seems pretty decent.

Mines a 10 minute walk from the uni too! I wonder if it’s the same block of studio flats 🙂
