Question about BCU Social Work entry requirements and UCAS points

Hey everyone I’m planning to apply for Social Work at BCU and just wanted some advice or insight. I’ve got quite a bit of experience including working in early years for a year, working in domiciliary care, doing placements with children with disabilities, and helping immigrants with food distribution. I’ve been caring for people for a long time but I don’t have the best academic record. I’m currently doing an Access to HE Diploma in Social Work and planning to take my Functional Skills in Maths. I already have my English GCSE and a vocational NVQ in Early Years and Primary School Settings where I achieved a Distinction.

From what I’ve seen, BCU mainly requires GCSEs in Maths and English or Functional Skills, plus the Access course with either a Merit or Distinction profile. I’m mainly getting Merits right now but aiming for more Distinctions. My only concern is whether I’ll meet the 122 UCAS points since BCU doesn’t clearly say how strict they are about that and just mentions Merit or Distinction overall.

I’ve tried asking my tutors and the university but they just keep referring me back to the website. If anyone has any real insight or experience with BCU’s entry requirements for Social Work, please let me know. Thanks!

If you take a look at the "Historical entry grades data" section of the UCAS page for Social Work BSc (Hons) at Birmingham City University, you'll note that, in recent years, the most common achieved A level grades help by accepted students were CCC. That's 96 UCAS points. So they clearly don't need 122.
