Give them tasks that may be helping someone who isn't as good at something they are at something and at the end ensure they realise that what they have done is really good and something they should be proud of

Children can be scared of social interactions for a number of reasons, try find out that reason and then try to help them overcome it, you can help them to make new friends by introducing two of them or get them involved in a teamwork task that they can play a social part in!
•
Doing 1-1's with them where they can do tasks around self awareness of positive traits and confidence can really help, even asking them "what's something you have done or want to do this week that has or will make you feel proud/confident" or on a scale of 1-10 how confident do we feel today and if its low ask what we can do to help or improve that and if its high ask them what they are going to do with this confident feeling

There are lots of resources around confidence like confidence booklets that young people can fill out to help maybe track there progress
•
young people observe everything around them like sponges! If you are commonly confident and you show this to them daily they can pick your actions up and copy them, encouraging them to come out of their shell a bit more!
•
Young people often withdraw when they make a mistake or don't do well at something, its important that we encourage the perspective that they have learnt something from that mistake and next time they try it will be better if they put in the work and practice. This builds both resilience and confidence!

A supportive environment allows young people to feel comfortable to try new things, make mistakes and do everything i have previously mentioned! It's important they feel comfortable and safe whilst being able to push their boundaries and help them become confident young individuals!
