Personal statement opener

Hi, I'm currently writing my personal statement for psychology. I'm happy with all of it apart from the first paragraph in which I'm trying to explain why I chose psychology.

In the first section I have a paragraph about wanting to be a therapist and my interest in reducing inequality in mental health care but I can't write one about actually liking psychology 😭 I just put something vague, like "I'm fascinated by how our brains work".

I already wrote about my favourite topics in A level psychology in the qualifications and studies part so I can't write about that again.

What else can you put in the first section apart from career goals and personal experience?

(also, any alternative words to "inspired"?)

Do you know why you have chosen psychology/why you are interested in the subject?
