Babcock 2026 graduate applications are well underway, some have already closed.

I applied for radiation protection. How are everyone's applications going?

Still waiting to do the one way interview. How far are you along?

My application says "Recruiter" under it, I assume that means it's under recruiter review. No idea what that means in real terms though.

Mine says the same, I assumed maybe it meant review of application by someone instead of just AI/thresholds? To see if we can go to assessment centre or not

How was the assessment and could you please give me an overview of what it’s like and any tips?

How long after OA did you get the video interview invite ?

I can contribute to a few questions in this thread.

I think the "recruiter" tag is something that is put there once you've submitted your application and simply means that it is within the recruiters hands now.

The OA is mostly a psychometric test about you and your priorities, with a logical and numerical test added in, I think it's acting as a filter for lower tier applicants.

Here's the timeline for my application:

Submitted my application on the 22nd of Sept.

Received invite to the OA on the 24th of Sept. Completed that same night. For this you are given a report that is a feedback profile of your performance, it's all obviously automated based on your answers to the psychometric aspect of the assessment.

Received invite to the one-way interview on the 25th of Sept.

Completed one-way interview on the 28th of Sept.

Heard nothing back since, but if it helps here's the text that is given to you once you've completed this stage;
"Thank you for submitting your video interview.
We can confirm it has been received and is now under review.
We appreciate the time and effort you've taken to submit your video, and we're excited to learn more about you and why you want to work with Babcock.

What happens next?
We can only invite a limited number of candidates to the final assessment stage, so from this point on one of three outcomes will occur:
1. If you're amongst the top-performing candidates, you'll be invited to the final assessment stage.
2. If you pass the video interview but are not amongst the highest performing candidates, we'll reach out to advise you've been placed into our talent pool. This means you'll be on our reserve list for the final stage or invited to apply to another programme.
3. If your video interview does not meet the criteria to progress to the next stage of the recruitment journey, we'll notify you that your application will not be progressed any further.

Our assessors will be evaluating all video submissions to create a shortlist for the final stage of our recruitment process, this will happen after the job advert has closed. We contact you as soon as possible following this, to let you know the outcome of your video interview.

Please note, you will not be able to access the above details after you close your browser so you may wish to keep a copy of this information for your records.

Warmest Regards,
Babcock Emerging Talent Recruitment Team"

The job advert for my programme (Science and Analytical Chemistry) closed on the 16th of Oct, and I've been watching my email inbox intently since. Hence why I'm here watching this thread for others that may have heard back before me. 😅

I have noticed this week though that some graduate programmes have opened back up with a deadline of December, probably meaning that there hasn't been enough candidates to fill those positions, my programme was not one of those to reopen...😨 probably meaning I have stiff competition.

I'm applying from Plymouth, for Plymouth BTW.

i completed my interview in september and the questions were based on why you want to work for the company, and what you bring to the table, like a competancy based question on teamwork. i cant exactly remember what they asked, but it was only three questions, you get 2 mins each, and it took me about 10 mins to complete it all. good luck!

About to take my video interview Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering Degree apprenticeship. Anyone has last minute tips on what I can be asked. I also had a question in mind, does AI check this or is it checked by humans from their side, and if so do I need to mention any keywords for skills and under what questions?
