Hiya lovely

Those are brilliant A Level choices Maths and Economics give you such a strong foundation for loads of university courses! Since you enjoy working with numbers, problem solving, and the business side of things, you might want to explore courses like Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Data Science, or even international relations.

It’s a great idea to think about the kinds of jobs you’d enjoy in the future and see which degrees link best to those careers.

Also, make sure to come along to some open days, our own next open day is 15th of November DMU OPEN DAY . Open days are a great way to chat with lecturers, explore different courses, and get a feel for which subjects might be the ones for you/ are the ones that will help you with your career goals. So you have plenty of option to choose from

Hi there!

Great to hear you're thinking of something mathsy/business-based as this can open up a lot of doors for you.

To add to others' suggestions above:

Economics and Maths
Maths, Stats and Data Science

If you wanted too, you could do a straight maths degree and then specialise in economics or finance/banking/business analysis later as a Masters.

Both of these courses come with placement year options if you want to do one so you can take a year out in a paid career relevant to your degree as part of your studies - a lot of fun and a good way to gain work experience for your CV.

Other unis may offer similar courses so be sure to take a good look at course write-ups, and visit a few open days to go to different course talks and see a few campuses 🙂

Hoping this helps too, best of luck!

Hey! Based on what you've said enjoying maths, economics, problem solving, stats, and the business side of things you’ve got loads of great options. It sounds like you’d thrive in a course that mixes analytical thinking with real-world application.
You could look into degrees like Economics, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or even Data Science or Economics with Management depending on what balance you want between numbers and business strategy.
At London South Bank University (LSBU), for example, they offer courses like Economics, Accounting and Finance, and Business Management with Analytics which are designed to be hands-on and career-focused. LSBU also puts a lot of emphasis on real-world experience and employability, so it’s great if you’re already thinking about how to apply what you’re learning to actual industries.
If you like the sound of using stats and data to help businesses make decisions, something like Business Analytics or Economics with Data Analysis could be a perfect fit.
It might help to look at course modules at a few unis (including LSBU!) and see which ones excite you most that’ll help you narrow it down. You're in a strong position with Maths and Econ A-levels, so keep your options open and focus on what type of work you'd enjoy long-term!
If you’d like to explore our courses further, we have an Open Day on Saturday 15th November, where you can speak with lecturers, meet current students, and get tailored advice on which pathway might suit your goals best.

👉 You can sign up here: LSBU Open Day.
👉 You can also chat with our students through our Unibuddy platform: Chat with our students.
Best of Luck!
