Need some help with Work Experience + Revision!! (Planning to do Medicine!)

Hey!

So I've taken Maths, Biology and Chemistry for A-levels and I have no clue what the best sort of revision tool to use is. I used to use like freesciencelessons for GCSE (and it got me 9's) but I'm not sure if he's good in A-levels (or if there are better alternatives e.g textbooks or different channels).

I was wondering if any of you could recommend me some good revision resources for the 3 A-levels I'm doing (especially any A-level Maths videos!)

Also, I want to get some work experience in at like a hospital or a carehome but upon emailing them they either ghost me (straight up ignoring me) or they reject me. Any tips on how to catch myself some work experience for Medicine?

Thanks!!

I don't really have particular videos but corbettmaths, amoeba sisters, etc... just whatever you can find that suits you. I would strongly advise doing past paper questions to really be able to apply the content. For me personally, I used the textbook (especially for mechanics and stats in math) and then once I got the content of a topic went ham with questions.

With the work experience, it is unusual that they would straight up ignore you. Maybe double check if it is the right email? Or if you know someone who volunteers there ask them directly to give you the email info? However, it is important to note that nowdays Unis also understand if you can't get in person work experience and you can go online (e.g Medic Mentor- do the free work experience, or Springpod)

Hope any of this helps xx

Hi!

Thank you so much for your tips!! Do I also use a textbook for Biology and Chemistry as well? Also I'm not sure if I remember correctly but I feel like my teacher said the textbook doesn't cover ALL the details can sometimes miss out some key ones?

Also with the work experience, do universities accept virtual work experience or do they like favour in-person ones over virtual ones anything like that?

Thanks!!!

Im not too sure on text books as it depends on your spec, but you can also check online to see if they published resources there
And no universities value in person and online work experience the same- just make sure to reflect on what you've learnt in your personal statement
