Abz's Year 11 GYG: Ctrl + Alt + SAVE MY GCSES 📝🍂📷🍪 (2025–2026)

Introduction

Hello TSR! :hi: I'm Abz and I just recently created an account

I know it's a bit late but I've decided to create a year 11 GCSE GYG because I feel very unmotivated and unproductive right. For my previous exams the majority of my revision has been last minute as I have a (huge) procrastination issue so I figured a mini blog would help... My aim is to achieve straight 9s, but I know that would be really difficult so I wanna try my best and see how I do

Spoiler

Extras

I have also already completed my English Language Spoken examination and got a Distinction!

English Literature: A Christmas Carol, Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, the Power and Conflict poetry cluster

History: Weimar & Nazi Germany, American West, Crime and Punishment, Henry VIII and his Ministers

Science and Maths are my weakest grades so I will definitely need to prioritise those

I'm also head boy at my school and I have lots of hobbies but some are playing Roblox, watching (and making!) films, yapping (a lot) and researching (the most random things). I wanna continue and grow my activities throughout year 11 so lemme know if anyone has any time management tips

I'm probably gonna put my to-do list on here every day as well as updates so I can keep motivated as honestly I haven't been studying much recently. Hopefully I will keep you all updated on my academic journey or should I say 'gradeventure'... 😭

I feel like today was quite unproductive as I was really busy
Good luck with this year and I look forward to following along!

I need to be fast but basically I procrastinated A LOT yesterday. I only did some of the Maths homework but I need to finish it as well as some of the others

-Finish Maths homework—did most of this but I'll finish what I need on my way to school or at school

-German homework—will finish at school

-Computer Science homework—will finish at/on my way to school

I've been really busy recently

Some upsetting things happened at school today but I just wanna move on from that. I've realised I definitely need to manage my time better. Yesterday I was procrastinating a lot so I'm gonna put on more manageable tasks and leave some time for other things since it's Friday

-Maths homework ✔️—this was pretty easy but there was one question that I kept getting wrong so that took way too long... and guess what I haven't got it correct yet :banghead: so I emailed my teacher

-English Literature homework ✔️—I really should work on my handwriting

-Look over my topic list and think about my revision—I'm not gonna do this now because I wanna finish some more homework first. I wanna get it all over and done with fast so I'm gonna make a new task list

-Computer Science revision homework—1.1 ✔️

-Maths homework ✔️

-English Literature homework

-English Language homework

-Science homework

Gonna add a couple more

-Computer Science homework

-Computer Science revision—1.2

I realised I overcommitted especially as for some of the homework there is a lot to do so I'm gonna continue tomorrow. Today was definitely better than yesterday and that's all that matters for me. I feel like I'm kind of getting into the habit of being productive which is good and I hope I continue to improve. I might play some Roblox now

-English Literature homework ✔️—super easy, I just had to catch up on something

-English Language homework ✔️

-Science homework ✔️

-Computer Science homework ✔️

-Computer Science revision homework—1.2 ✔️

That's almost all of my homework currently due next week completed. There's just some English Literature homework which I'm a bit confused about so I sent an email to my teacher. I'm gonna give myself some rest time now and maybe bake something later :cookie:

Change of plans—I ended up going on a bike ride which was nice. I saw a cat and we stared at each other for a good few minutes and I tried to get closer but it ran away

I'm gonna give myself one task to do

-Look over my topic list and think about my revision. I might write it on here ✔️

-3 English Literature homeworks (Oh nevermind, I mean 4) ✔️—this was't that bad and I also started an English Literature word bank

Today was very productive so I'm proud of myself. Hopefully I can be like this more often because I also went on a bike ride which I wanna do more often. I finished all the homework currently due next week so I can focus on my revision now which is great. I started Busuu for German and it's working well for me so I'm gonna try to make it a daily habit. I also don't have the overarching worry of my homework not being completed so I'm gonna play some Roblox now hehe

-One last math homework question ✔️—this took wayyy longer than it needed because I kept messing one specific thing up but at least I realised. Also another thing is my English Literature teacher replied saying I only had to do 1 piece of homework... I already did 4. But at least I don't have to worry about that homework for a bit

-Busuu—Around 10% of my level? ✔️—I did some but realised how long it takes so I might do It throughout the day. I'm gonna take a break and do some things I need to do (and maybe bake something) before beginning my photography coursework

-Photography coursework (There's quite a lot to do!)—I went out and ended up procrastinating a lot. I'm definitely gonna do this tomorrow.

Ohhh our school for our mock is doing paper 2 because it's the last topics we did. I think we're gonna revisit Macbeth and A Christmas Carol and then do it for our second year 11 mock exams. I hope you do well on your trial exam! I have one soon too

Oooo a 6 is good and you can definitely improve that in time for your real GCSEs! Did you not do a trial exam in year 10?
