Dentistry or dental hygiene and therapy

Hi
With a UCAT score of 1990 but predicted ABB, would it be wise to forego my dream of dentistry this year and apply for DHT instead?
If I do a year of DHT, and then resit UCAT next year, will the Unis look at dropping out of DHT kindly or will this be seen as a red flag?
Would it be wiser to take a gap year instead?
Thanks for any help or advice.

I'd say try your hardest to get into dentistry because it is very hard to get into both and there are a lot of people trying to get into DHT (especially dental nurses like myself) it is sad to hear you say you'd get such a great opportunity then plan to drop out. That's a space that could have been saved for someone who really want to get into DHT as a career.
