Do I have a chance at an offer Warwick Economics and Management?

Hi, I’m applying for Economics and Management at Warwick. Their offer is A*AA/AAA (AAB contextual), but I’m currently predicted ABB in Maths(B) , Economics (B) , and Classics( A) . My GCSEs are 877777665 (5 in foundation French) , and I’m contextual since my old school had a high % of free school meals. Do I still have a realistic chance or should I focus on safer options?

You don’t really have anything to loose from not applying so I say you may as well. You get 5 choices so it’s not the end of the world if you don’t end up getting an offer. I would just say make sure you think about where else you would want to go so if they don’t end up giving you an offer you still have options that you would like to go to! To give yourself a better chance at Warwick try to write a really good personal statement.

Warwick tends to look at applications in quite a balanced way, so predictions are only one part of the picture. Economics and Management is competitive, but the department is also known for considering context and personal background quite carefully. Since you have contextual factors and you are already interested in the course, it is still worth applying if Warwick is a place you genuinely like.

A lot of students here say the department is supportive and the learning environment is really good once you settle in. People with different academic profiles have done well because Warwick offers a lot of structure and guidance, especially in the first year. Your GCSEs are not out of place for many students who end up here, and contextual applicants do sometimes receive offers that reflect their circumstances.

I cannot say for sure what will happen, because every application is different, but if Warwick is somewhere you would be happy to study, it makes sense to keep it in your choices. You can still apply to a mix of options for your own peace of mind, but giving Warwick a chance is definitely reasonable. The course has a great reputation and many students find it a very supportive place to grow academically.
