Cambridge written work help

Hi! I'm a Cambridge English BA applicant for 2026 entry and am kinda stressing about the written work. Basically I want to know how important it is when shortlisting for interview I guess?
I'm super busy at the moment (4 NEAs + practicing for CELAT + practicing for drama scripted piece + regular revision) so I'm concerned I won't be able to purpose-make two stellar essays in time for the deadline and will have to make do with two (A* level but not remarkably insightful or brilliant) essays that I did for my yr12 mocks.
My personal statement was quite good (I think), plus I have 4A* predicted grades and good GCSEs, so I'm mostly worried that it will be the written work that will mess me up when it comes to shortlisting for interview.

If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!!

Hey, I'm not an English student but I'm pretty sure they don't expect you to write anything specifically for your application; they want you to send pieces of regular coursework, so they can get an understanding of how you'll write for a normal school assignment. I personally didn't get any questions on my written work during my interviews, so I doubt it's a super important part of your application (your PS is definitely more important). Of course, try to select the pieces you're most proud of, but I doubt it'll be a deal-breaker in the end.

Submit the work you wrote for your Year 12 mocks. They don't expect you to write anything new specially for your submitted written work and may actually prefer you don't.
