My friend had! Things were getting a bit passionate and a screw came out or something  Very amusing.

I'm pretty sure if you broke a hotel bed you'd be charged for it. Unless it wasn't your fault. Not sure how that can be proved though..
I havn't broken a bed before. If the bed has minor damage, then the hotel might not even notice it. Therefore, you might not need to pay for it. If it is a major damage of the bed, they will notice and you need to pay for it.

has anyone else ever had a moment of passion/fury/restlessness which has resulted in a broken bed?

AND

does anyone know whether or not one can expect to be charged for breaking a bed in a hotel?

lol we...umm broke the towel rail in the shower in a moment of passion.. my ex went down and complained to the manager that we were hanging up towels when it fell off..very amusing

You might get charged unless you go down and complain about possible injury etc

my boyfriend basically ripped the headboard off in a moment of...happiness  was very funny, but now i'm scared he'll get charged! does anyone know how long it would take the hotel to bill him if that's the case?

Did the manager believed that after your bf hanged up the towels then the towel rail fell off?

I've got a habbit of being sick in hotel rooms, I can clean it up the best I can but it would be obvious to the cleaners. I still haven't been charged. Its a bit different ot breaking a bed though.

I reckon he could get done for crinimal damage, but they will probably just ask him to pay up before they start any legal proceedings.

criminal damage?! hahaha, oh dear. That's funny. I kinda hope he does get charged with criminal damage! would he have to make a statement detailing the way in which the damage was caused?!

yes you know you've caused some damage when the tile cement comes off with it. This is not recommended especially when it is followed by falling onto the bathroom floor :p:

Yeah being sick isnt really your fault...involuntary etc
Strange coincidence this - me and my girlfriend broke the hotel bed on Sunday - not completely broke it but it had like panels running horizontally underneath it and one of them broke. Unnoticeable really, apart from the spectacularly loud creaking noise it made for the 3 nights afterwards. Hotel never said anything and neither did we. They never charged us for phone calls we made on their phone either, which was nice.

Argh but the 12 pints in Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Edinburgh, London, Lille and Lloret weren't

So it was still self inflected.
