Dont know what to do with uni

I started this year in a uni that i never really wanted to go to but I had no choice. My dream was always to go to ucl/kcl or imperial because I couldnt move out of london due to financial issues. The courses that I would want to do in these unis all require at least A*AA and I only got AAA with one A being 3 marks away from an A*. This really frustrated me because if I got those 3 marks everything would be different. I feel like trying to apply to a stem course in London with AAA is actually tough because they either want at least 1 A* and the rest of the unis require at least ABB and below. And resitting wont help me as I wont be able to do better than what I already achieved. At the same time, I feel like the courses im doing right now isnt the ideal one for me. Dropping out also seems scary to me because well I already started and its basically wasting my money. I know I should have researched a lot more but it’s too late now.

Why don’t you look through universities as a result of clearing and whether your course is found available through there?

Did you appeal your results? And for it to be remarked I mean I understand if it’s a couple of marks of then it’s worth the recheck and remark. I would definitely recommend that you don’t drop out probably best to speak to someone like a careers advisor just so you can assess how to take things forward if your course is available even through clearing but it’s the university that you can’t go to then in theory there’s not much you can do about it really but just adjust and see what’s available and open.

Yeah sorry I forgot to mention that I remarked it. Unfortunately, the marks stayed the same :/

Hey,

First of all this is such a frustrating situation for you which I want to recognise. Would it be possible to consider commuting for example to Royal Holloway? Or any others that are near London. Also, I know I don't understand your personal financial situation, but are you sure you have researched fully your options with affordability of other unis in the UK? There may be some which are AAA, still amazing russel group unis. I am assuming you are on a gap year - what about getting a job and working as much as you can to save to move out? Sorry if this isn't helpful as I am sure you may have thought of this.
