I made a stupid mistake please give advice

Hey so I'm currently in yr 12 and for the longest time I wanted to do English at university and become an editor/ writer but I've recently changed my mind as they don't make great money and I just don't think I'd enjoy it as much as I think.

The problem is I chose my subjects based off wanting to become an editor. I chose English literature, media and criminology + EPQ. I have thought about what I want to do and I'm thinking about law maybe being a solicitor as a career but I know it's very competive doing law and my a levels aren't the strongest. The unis I wanted to get into was either Birmingham or Neumann and this is still the case

So any advice on what to do or how to boost myself would be great or if anyone's been in the same situation please share. Thanks!!!!

You could always do English at uni as planned but then do a one year law conversion course? More time doing what you love but you can still become a lawyer in the end!

hey  you can definitely apply to law with those a levels as the majority of unis don't have required subjects for law, and those that do, usually english lit is included! birmingham don't have any subject requirements for law

as mentioned before you can also do english at uni then do a conversion - lots of lawyers/solicitors don't have law degrees.

if you're worried you can email university admissions teams to see if they'd consider you with that combination

A lot of law firms actually prefer a degree in English, History or Modern Languages - then a conversion degree for law
