strathclyde offer question

Hi! i’ve just submitted my UCAS 2026 application. I’ve applied to dentistry at glasgow and dundee, as well as pharmacy and psychology at strathclyde.

Since i’m applying to dentistry, my personal statement has to be 100% tailored to dentistry or my application is essentially useless.
However I also would love to do courses like pharmacy and psychology and I am truly passionate about both. I’m wondering if admissions at strath will even consider my application and if it worth emailing admissions for both courses? I achieved 5 As at higher and am predicted 3 Advanced higher As.

If you're passionate about all of them, I would apply for all of them. That way, if you get offer holder days you can see what it's really like and you can choose from there! It may be dentistry isn't going to be what you though it was and pharmacy really takes your fancy. Anything could happen really. I hope this helps! 😄

Hey Anon 🙂

We'll be happy to consider your Pharmacy application as a backup for Dentistry, however the Humanities & Social Sciences faculty may reject your Psychology application. Normally they'd expect to see a Personal Statement which is very driven towards studying Psychology and the course is very competitive. I can't say for certain that they definitely would reject the application but normally the Personal Statement is a really important part of their considerations.

It might be too late to change this on your UCAS form now but hope the info helps a bit! Any other questions let me know 🙂
