Can I get accepted?

Hey so I'm planning to apply for 2026 September entry for computer science with foundation year.
I'm studying a T-Level in the related field and I'm expecting to get a Distinction* but the requirement is a 6 in maths and I only got a 5 in GCSE.
However, I've been a young carer even during GCSEs and I fit all the other criteria for the foundation year and none of my parents went to university so I was wondering if they will still consider me a place there.

Hello, the foundation year is set to help students like you. I would recommend you to reach out directly to Durham’s Foundation Centre Admissions Team. Explain your situation, including your GCSE Maths grade, your T-Level performance, and your background as a young carer. They may advise you to apply and include a strong personal statement that highlights your resilience and motivation. Durham uses contextual information, and your circumstances will be taken into account.
