Can I apply for student finance for a second degree?
I'm a mature student studying English literature and in my final year of university, I get full tuition fees and maximum maintenance loans. I'm pretty limited into where I can go to university for personal circumstance. I'd love to go into health care and local universities do not offer a postgrad nursing degree for people like me. It seems the only thing I can do is study nursing with the OU, which is eligible for a second funded degree. I'm registered to start my nursing degree in feb 2026, i'll be completing it whilst in my final year. Can I get two lots of funding at same time, or would I have to wait until it's finished?

Hi waning-wingman,
You would need to wait until the course is finished as you can't receive funding for both at the same time, so there cannot be an overlap on one end date and the start date of another.
