Change of start date after payment

I've applied for SFE funding for an MA with an October start, but I am now looking to change my start date to January. The uni offers a grace period of 14 days since start of term for me to do this/not be liable to fees, but I am wondering how this works if my first SFE payment has already come through (yesterday: I haven't paid the uni yet)? Do I ask uni to amend my application first before SFE? Do I have to pay back the amount I just got and then wait to receive it again in January? Thank you

Hi Jean,

The university can send us a 'change of circumstance' to update your course to a January intake - if the university and course remain the same. Your payment dates however would continue to remain in line with the September dates though as you've already enrolled onto the course and the university have confirmed your registration (in line with you being paid). Hello Jason,
Thank you for your response. The only thing is I think (not 100% certain) my enrolment would be ‘terminated’ so to speak and changed to an offer of January start in which I must re-enrol, as January enrolment usually commences late October at this uni. Does that change the conditions of my SFE payments as you have laid out here?

Hi Jean,

As you have been paid the university would need to send us the Change of Circumstances so that we can update your course details. They would not be able to terminate your Confirmation of Registration with us and as you have been paid we would not be able to change your payment dates so you would still be paid as if you started in September even though you have changed to a January intake.
