HELPPP , stay at current school for sixth form to do IB OR go to another school

Soooooo, guys i need help , i'm really struggling to pick between my current school or to leave to another sixth form
For context - my school is relatively new ( and we're gonna be the first cohort of year 11 ) . This means that we are also going to be the first cohort of yr12s and yr13s . I kinda like my school? and i really love all my teachers , seriously. However, my school is doing IB and not A-levels which i guess is amazing since no other school in the area offers IB. I am considering IB however i've been seeing loads of people on TikTok complaining about the workload. It's either this or i leave my school to do A-levels ( which apparently has lesser workload than IB).
My current options i'm considering in sixth form are : Economics ( which is mandatory , i really wanna do it ) , politics ( also mandatory for me , just because i am interested in it ) , English Literature ( which i am considering ) , or psychology ( also considering ) and finally sociology ( it's a maybe ).

p.s my school don't offer economics as part of their IB yet ( they are open to consideration if people really need/want to do it ).
any advice would help , thanks xx

What are you thinking of studying at university?

IB tends to be 'better' for Arts type future studies.

Hi @yayyforskl i think it depends on what your future goals are. Your school sounds really amazing and if your happy and comfortable there then staying sounds like a great option. However if you have a specific degree/career your aiming for, it’s worth seeing what unis except IBs or if their more or less favourable than a levels. You could do this by reading the grade requirements on their websites or emailing their admissions teams.

Hope this helps and best of luck,

OK - not an easy decision.

If you can get the subjects you want then I think there is a benefit of staying where you are.

A pioneering cohort usually gets lots of support.

Go to other schools Open Evenings to see what they are like and, of course, you don't just have to apply to one.
