Any studying tips

I can't study any time i study i get worse scores then when i don't and im in year 10 and i missed alot of skl in the last 2 years so i do need to study for some stuff any tips also is it actually really true that i need to lock in this year bc everyone says i do

The way you revise should vary slightly between subjects. For example for math, I recommend watching a YouTube video on a specific topic and then doing as many exam style questions as possible- try find harder ones cause sometimes in the exam they will try to catch you out! However for subjects such as science or other content heavy subjects, I recommend watching YouTube videos, and making online flashcards. Recall these as much as you can, and make sure you learn exam techniques!

im in y12 rn and one thing I did during gcses that really helped was keeping a mistakes book (include a 'forgotten' section and a 'didn't understand' section) for each subject/ topic and categorise the mistakes you made and write them down. I found the action of writing them down (in my own words) forced me to understand it. Also helps to help identify knowledge gaps/ misconceptions and gives you a bit of direction when revising, good luck!

i like to voice record lessons on my laptop (with teacher permission!) as like a study podcast, i say questions i don't understand/ didn't get right out loud so when i go back and listen i can try again or research online how to do that type of question. its useful in wordy subjects like science, history and English but doesn't really work for things like art or food tech
