Reapplying while at a university.

Hey. So I am currently studying computer system engineering at Qmul and I haven’t been liking the course. The uni is alright but it was never really my main choice as I got rejected from others. So I started thinking about studying something like mathematics which I always loved. I am thinking of reapplying to other universities now while still attending Qmul in case nothing works out. I studied maths, physics and chemistry and got AAA and I would like to apply to kcl but their course needs one A* at least as well as further maths. However, I saw someone online who got into the course without these requirements. Do you think it’s possible to do so or not? And if another course doesn’t need further but still needs an A*, is it worth applying? My maths grade was 2 marks away from an A*, If I mention this on my personal statement would they take it into account or not? Thanks!

Also forgot to mention that my sixth form didn’t offer further maths, would they also take this into account or not?

Have you asked QMUL if you can switch to Maths there?

I haven’t because I really want to see whether I’m able to get offers by reapplying first. I don’t really want to tell them to switch courses then drop out after a month if I receive offers
