Eng lit - I did aqa (R&J, Jane Eyre, AIC and power&conflict poetry). I’d say only learn quotes you can analyse (and maybe try pre-learn some analysis with them). I think I had about 85 for R&J - I know that sounds like a lot but there’s more characters, 50 for Jane Eyre and then 50 for AIC? For poetry I studied 5 poems really well so I could compare them to anything
Pre-learning analysis is what really helped me with English lit as I could never come up with anything interesting on the spot, you can even ask ChatGPT for ideas!
Spanish - I took French & Latin so not quite the same but probably similar. I’d really recommend working on speaking - write astounding answers for all the questions you’re given BEFORE MARCH or you won’t have time to learn them. please trust me on that I was still writing them Easter half term and it was really stressful 😥 you can also reuse bits of work for your writing, and it’s great if you do well on speaking because then you have less to worry about for the other papers
For reading and listening, I’d say just do as much practice as possible, it gets easier
Hope this helps!

it is so insightful thank you so much !!

oops sorry for the late reply 😕
i'm probably not in the best position to give advice but i hope you find this useful!
i got a 7 in chemistry and a 6 in physics in my yr 10 mocks! ( without finishing either of the papers btw - i need to work on my time management lol - so i assume i would have gotten higher if i finished the papers, hopefully )
i would say for science the best ways to revise is to watch videos on the topics you're weak at and then straight to questions to test yourself! Also try to make links with the topics in each subjects . This is because ( for AQA at least that's the exam board i do ) , most of the big mark ( 6 markers ) questions usually required linking two or maybe even more topics to answer the questions, especially in physics where there are questions where you need to link two ( or more ) equations to answer the question.
Overall, i wouldn't worry too much about physics , if you know the basic concepts you'll be fine bcos we already have the equation sheet !
And for chemistry, my fav science, cram all the equations you need i.e calculating moles, concentration e.t.c. and know the concepts and you'll be alright !
The key to getting really high grades in the sciences ( as told to me by my science teacher ) , is to really understand it instead of memorising it, it will really help you in the exams.
DONT FORGET PAST PAPERS , they're essential.
p.s hope this helps xx !

okay , let's all ignore the fact that i abandoned yall, but hi once again!
The half term has been aight , did 0 hours of revision on monday, 3 hours on tuesday, and 4 hours yesterday, so i guess i'm doing aightttttttt.
Today , the aim is to do a bit of spanish revision , then geography, and maybe drama?
i'll keep yall updated ( hopefully ) on how today goes!

Reply 26

okay it's friday the 24th of October ( i'm becoming more consistent hehe 😊 )
i did a geography past paper yesterday, and i just realised that i had forgotten MOST of my case studies, i'm adding that to my mistakes list, and i'm also gonna do paper 2 today as well!
Also i'm gonna squeeze in a bit of maths into my revision today, and Spanish ofc ( i have to do Spanish everyday as it is my weakest subject lol )
that's about it for today, if i do more, i'll make sure to update y'all x

Reply 27

uhm this is weird,
i didn't do any revision yesterday so now i'm stuck with an all day saturday revision ☹️
Today's agenda is firstly to do the 2017 November past papers ( paper 1 & 2 )
and then maybe doing an english language past paper as well after i'm done ,
as always i'll keep y'all updated !!

Reply 28

hi guys 🙂
so i did manage to do the 2017 maths paper 1 and 2 , and they weren't as bad as i thought !
Today's agenda is to learn language techniques for english language component 1 , and of course, do some of my spanish speaking questions ( as it is my weakest subject ) . Also maybe learn my geography case studies , bcos idk if y'all have been following but i don't remember any of them helppp.
Anyways, that's it for today, i'll make sure i report on how today acc went !!
p.s i finally got out of my reading slump and i finished term & conditions ( the 2nd book from Dreamland Billionaires - ps it is my favourite book in the series bcos the sarcasm in the book is top-notch and i love a good sarcasm ! )

kk , bye guys !
( for now )

Hey everyone, my options are Drama, Geography and German and i absolutely love them all! I would love to get a 7 or above in RS as i got a 4 in my year 10 mock. My science exams were all 6 and 7's which i would love to boost to at least an 8. My english lit and lang are always 6 or a 7 as well so i will be trying to work on that. Anyone got any tips please let me know. Drama section 1/2 write up for me as i'm doing OCR is killing me but thats okay cause soon it will be scripted! Good luck on year 11 mocks everyone we are going to do so well!

Hi! I take all the same subjects except I do Econ instead of Drama. I am predicted all 9s but need to stop procrastinating. This sounds like a great idea for motivation

Btw I do Edexcel IGCSE Geography so it'll be different but the advice still stands. Honestly, my problem with geo is usually only that I don't have enough time to properly do the 8 markers since they expect us to write a lot, especially compared to what's needed for a 4 marker. The Geography department is easily the best one at my school though and they always give us a bunch of resources in terms of PPQs compiled for each topic. I usually do flashcards for definitions and processes (like coastal ones) and for human geo, I don't really revise (I know that sounds bad) because the content I do in econ is nearly the same so I don't feel the need to go over much except practicing PPQs. Also, for my curriculum at least, case studies aren't that big of a deal and I've never had to memorise more than 5 stats in total.

Thanks for this! This really helped, i find it crazy you only have to remember less than 5 stats! Best of luck on mocks!
