Societies at Kingston University

As we all know and hear from everyone that the greatest way to find friends is by joining societies. I’m a student ambassador at Kingston university and I will introduce you (our current and prospective students) to the societies we have here in Kingston 💜. People always say that you can meet your future friends in societies because societies are like little communities where everyone shares the same interest/religion/ethnicity/hobby, which is honestly true. You can check all of Kingston’s societies, here. But I will also briefly introduce some of our popular ones.

ACS is one of the most vibrant cultural societies on campus, they hold both chill and fun nights. The latest event they had was on the 1st of October, a fun night of meet & greet with a games event for the start of the year. Watch their games night event vlog and keep an eye out for their next fun event 🎉

ISOC is an amazing welcoming place for Muslim students; they organise prayer spaces on campus charity fundraisers and wise talks. They’re holding two fun upcoming events of games and dinner this October so don’t miss out! 🌼🌸🌺

This is THE SPOT for fun geek culture, games and movies. They hold taster weeks where they watch anime (e.g., anime Thursdays), sci-fi/fantasy movies (e.g., sci-fi/fantasy Mondays), play video games and e-sports and card and board games. Just come along with your movie pillow 😀.

Sports societies

For all the athletes and sports lovers, we’ve got you too, Kingston holds many tournaments, competitions and weekly training/playing sessions for common and uncommon sports from American football to cheerleading. To join. Head to the Kingston Students' Union website: kingstonstudents.net/societies Browse the list of societies, click ‘join’, most of them charge a small annual fee of £3-5 to fund the events, follow their Instagram page for updates and just turn up to the next one😊 Are you joining any societies this year?
