accounting & finance PS help - what theme should I pick?

I'm having trouble on which theme to carry forward with on my personal statement. I am applying for accounting and finance and I did an essay competition answering the question ‘can we maintain positive economic growth while addressing addressing climate change’ but I’m not sure if it relates well to my course. I was thinking instead for my theme to be about fraud and forensics in business since its something I'm really interested in but I don’t know how to include my essay competition into it, or whether I should forgoe mentioning it at all. I dont really have many supercurriculars

Hiya! (:

I would definitly mention your essay comp, you dont need to go into vast detail especially if your struggling for room but just a line or 2 about how it helped to push you towards the degree and get you intetested in researching more into the sector could be good! - also shows great communication skills with it being related to ecconomics & also another field, shows how you can communicate in an easy to understand manner! - something like that would be a nice thing to mention 😊

When i was applying i'd yapped a bit about my work as an autism ambassador and also my part-time job - obviously not direclty relevent to my chem degree lol but these type of things show great transferrable skills with handelling groupwork & organisation in a uni setting, when admissions are reading your application they are also looking for this alongside academics & your general interest into the course (:

When i applied the application wasnt in the question format, instead just the big chunk of text, but with the format you could maybe chat a bit about the fruad & forensic stuff in the first part on what interests you about the course and then later in part 3 how the competition helped to prep you for the workload and independent research elements in uni 🤗

hope this helps, best of luck with your application!!
