Should the UK withdraw access to benefits/NHS from EU citizens?

Some major MPs are now suggesting this. Should the UK unilaterally withdraw benefits from EU citizens with settled status? That would certainly mean the EU withdrawing benefits from UK citizens. I wonder how they would react when a bunch of Italian/French/Spanish citizens are deported from the UK.

Is that the same Katie Lam who supported Brexit that lead to the Brexit wave of largely low skilled non-EU migrants that are creating serious long term problems for Britain?

Is that the same Katie Lam who supported Brexit that had human traffickers rubbing their hands with glee as they nipped off down to Carrefour to stock up on rubber dinghies?

Is that the same Katie Lam who was a member of the political party that starved the Home Office of the resources it needed to process asylum seekers in a timely manner that landing us with a massive hotel bill?

It that the same Katie Lam who supported the Rwanda scheme that resulted in a grand total of zero involuntary deportations over an almost two year period despite costing several hundred million pounds?

Is that the same Katie Lam who was a member of the political party that negotiated and signed the Brexit agreement?

Is that the same Katie Lam who supports Robert Jenrick who as immigration minister oversaw net migration pushed to record levels?

The Katie Lams of this world are the problem. The same goes for the likes of Richard Tice. That is why I don't take their opinions seriously.

If is was EU citizens who were bringing the NHS to its knees this would be a reasonable thing to consider. However, when I was unlucky enough to spend a Sunday night / Monday morning in the ambulance wing of our local casualty, the vast majority of those coming through the door were white elderly, British men and women who were in the end of their lives.

We have an aging population we seem desperate to keep alive at all costs when in years gone by, people were just allowed to die peacefully. Just a thought.
