How to find a Job at Brighton

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all starting to feel settled in at uni now that classes are in full swing. I thought I would share some advice on how to look for jobs, now that you are here and the excitements of freshers week is over.

Make a CV
The first important part of pretty much any job application is making a CV, don't worry if you don't have any job experience, you can put things like extra curricular clubs and any roles you had in school. The most important thing is to talk about skills you developed during these. Looking up soft/ transferable skills and seeing which apply to the job is a great way to boost your CV if you don't have any job experience.

Applying to jobs
A lot of companies will post their jobs on job sites like Indeed but some will only post on their own sites so a good idea is to scroll down to the bottom of big companies websites and find their own specific jobs hub. Smaller businesses may not advertise their jobs on any sites and may just post a notice in their window, some will ask for you to give them a physical CV, some may ask for you to email them it.

Utilise the help your uni gives you!
