Can I get more funding?

I’m doing a postgraduate pre registration degree in physiotherapy at Brunel. My degree was two years and is supposed to stretch 2023-2025. However I have gone into the next academic year and finish my degree in November of 2026. Can I still get an extra year of funding as I’ve had to re-enrol for a third academic year.

Hi there, for to assist you with your query please answer the following questions:

Is the course a Full Time or Part Time course?
How many years of previous study do you have?
Thanks, Stephen.

Hi it’s a full time course, I’ve completed two years of the course. It was also a typo but I finish the degree in November 2025 which is still a third academic year I’ve started for the course

Hi Josh,

You're entitled to an additional year of funding from us. So, if the university classes this as you repeating 2nd Year then yes: you'll be eligible for funding from us for this additional year.

Thanks, Graeme

Hi thanks just to clarify I’m not sure if they’re considered it me doing an extra year they may do but since my second year of uni has gone into a third academic year this shouldn’t cause problems if I go ahead to apply for another year of funding?

Hi Josh,

Do you know if the university will class you as a student in attendance or a student not in attendance for the repeat year?

Thanks, Drew

Hi, no problem I’m not counted as repeating a year and they’ll consider me still in attendance. It just seems the second year has been elongated past the two year mark and into a third academic year

Hi Josh.ld,

That would be considered to be a part year repeat. You would just reapply for the repeat year on your account and the university can send through a Change of Circumstances to confirm the duration of your attendance within that academic year so that the entitlement can be calculated.

Hi that’s great thank you, how do I apply for a repeat year do I need to start a whole new application or do I go into the old application and apply through there?

Hi there. You would start a new applicaiton for 25/26 and then once you submit it get your university to send us the part year repeat notification. Thanks, Leah.
