Hello, I have applied for LLB Law course at University of York, Nottingham, Leeds, Newcastle University and Lancaster University. I was wondering if anyone who has previously applied knows if Law takes longer to receive offers than other courses due to its popularity?

Hi Izzy, Yes, Law can sometimes take longer to hear back from because it's a high-demand course with lots of applicants, especially since all the universities (besides lancaster which is one of the best Non-Russel group Uni's) you applied to are Russel group. Such Uni's will normally wait till after the Ucas Deadline to review a wide range of applicants before making decisions, especially if your predicted grades are closer to entry requirements.
It's totally normal if you haven't heard anything back yet, you can expect offers to come through anywhere from December-March.
So despite the understandable anxiety this may cause, hang in there! Remember silence doesn't mean rejection.

It could be any time between a few days and next May. When you get an offer is not significant, so try not to keep checking your phone - it'll drive you nuts.

Hi izzycookes,
It's great to hear you've applied for Law at York! 🎉
Law is an extremely popular choice here at York, and we receive many applications for a limited number of places. But, all decisions on applications received by the UCAS on-time application deadline (14 January 2026) will be provided before or on the UCAS deadline of 13 May 2026.
Thank you for your patience. I hope this helps! Hannah 😀
