Best strategy is to go for a degree course with any sort of work-placement, industrial experience or study abroad - all add enormously to your graduate CV and may even lead directly to your first job. Recommended.

Hi,

As mentioned above, https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree/chemistry is a really useful website for getting a full overview of career paths with a chemistry degree.

Many graduates go into lab-based roles such as pharmaceuticals, forensics, environmental testing or research and development. However, there are also many opportunities outside the lab. A chemistry degree develops strong problem-solving, analytical and data skills, which means graduates can also move into areas like regulatory affairs, teaching, or even tech and data-focused roles with extra training. You can also choose to continue your studies with a master’s or PhD if you’re interested in further academic or research pathways.

If you enjoy science and want a degree that offers flexibility across industry, research, healthcare and beyond, chemistry is a great choice.

Hope this helps,
