Dropping a level

How late would it be before the school say no dropping an a level? Or does that time frame not exist? I take four so it would go down to three.

Just struggling to have a life as well as doing maths chem bio and physics. My school is full of smart people so we go really fast. I’ve been trying to keep up but it’s getting impossible and I think it’s time to drop physics.

If anyone has been in the same boat and could share their experience with this I’d be grateful.

If they were nice, I would say that they would let you drop it at any time. In my first year I did physics then dropped it in my second year to do sociology instead (much much easier).

Best time is probably at the start of the second year but if you are in your first year, it is still early enough where they should allow it

Only way to find out is to ask

I did similar last year. I started with bio, chem, physics and history (this was mainly beacuse i couldn’t decide which subject to do and i was always going to drop one). I decided to drop physics after 1 month of starting the year as it was way too much content and I realised I hated physics . I would deffo recommend dropping one sooner rather than later as unis only ask for 3 a levels and often take just the top 3 grades if you’ve done more. Dropping it sooner will mean you can consenteate on the alevels you actually want to take and will mean you probably end up with a better grade.
