Postgraduate funding

Hello,

I am currently in my final year of my undergraduate degree, and I'm interested in completing a masters course after I graduate. However, I am unsure what funding (if any) I would be eligible to receive. Before my current studies, I was enrolled on an undergraduate programme at a different university, however, I withdrew after approximately 6 weeks. I then secured a place at my current institution to study a 4-year MSci. During the last academic year however, I changed my course duration & classification to a 3-year BSc. When I graduate, I will have received 3 years of funding at my current institution, plus some whilst studying at the institution I withdrew from. Am I eligible for any postgraduate funding for a masters degree?

Thanks

Hi there,

When would your new course start? Have you ever had funding for a Postgraduate course or have a Postgraduate qualification? Can you confirm the name of the course, what university you will attend and the duration of the course?

Thanks, Drew

Hello,

My new course would start in September 2026 and would last for 1 academic year. I have never received funding for Postgraduate study and I do not hold any Postgraduate qualifications already. I am currently undecided on the exact course I will choose and the institution I will attend.

Thanks

Thanks, this all sounds fine.

To be eligible for the Masters Loan the main requirement is that you don't already have a Masters. Since you don't, you should be fine to apply for this.

In case you haven't seen this you can check the link below for more information on how the loan works.

Thanks, Graeme

Does any of this change if I am applying for funding from SAAS rather than SFE?

Thanks

Hi there. We don't deal with SAAS eligibility here. You would still apply to SFE if you live in England, even if you move to Scotland for the purpose of study. Thanks, Leah.
