Law 2026 University Choices

Dear all, I need help deciding whether to switch my university choices last minute.
For reference, my stats are A*A*A* predicted, A in Core Maths AS (highest available), 99999999888 at GCSE. I have a strong personal statement according to my school and I am happy with my reference. I am currently the top in my year in Biology and top 5% in my other 2 A-levels.
That being said I absolutely butchered the LNAT today despite getting between 25-35 in my practices.
I didn’t answer the last 2 MCQs due to messing up the timing. I also found the Part A incredibly difficult and started panicking as a result.
My essay was a good question but I found I only wrote around 500-600 words and feel like I wasn’t very articulate in my ideas and my structure was a bit off.

Currently I have applied to Cambridge, Bristol, Durham, York and Cardiff.
Do I switch Durham for Manchester which doesn’t require the LNAT? I’m scared I’m going to be rejected from all 3 LNAT unis if it went badly- does anyone know how lenient they might be considering my application as a whole?

To offer some piece of mind, I don't think anyone feels particularly great coming out of the LNAT. With tests of this nature, it is truly hard to gauge how you did, and even worse because you are left with no answers. I'm sure you did better than you feel! I have written it twice now - first time I felt terrible after writing and wound up scoring a 27 on the real thing. I'm awaiting this cycle's results, but even having written it before I still felt uneasy afterwards. 500-600 words for the essay is the target range, so don't stress about that. Durham doesn't have a true cutoff, I think their average score for offer holders was a 24, which is lower than your worst practice test. Keep your head up and bet on yourself!

Everyone always thinks that they messed up LNAT so don't worry - an average score will still get you considered at most LNAT Unis. As an example, Bristol uses these assessment weightings, 20% GCSEs, 40% LNAT, 40% A levels, and an MCQ score of 25+ would still be enough to be considered for an offer.
