Law 2026 University Choices- LNAT Horror!

Dear all, I need help deciding whether to switch my university choices last minute.
For reference, my stats are A*A*A* predicted, A in Core Maths AS (highest available), 99999999888 at GCSE.I have a strong personal statement according to my school and I am happy with my reference. I am currentlythe top in my year in Biology and top 5% in my other 2 A-levels.
That being said I absolutely butchered the LNAT today despite getting between 25-35 in my practices.
I didn’t answer the last 2 MCQs due to messing up the timing. I also found the Part A incredibly difficult andstarted panicking as a result.
My essay was a good question but I found I only wrote around 500-600 words and feel like I wasn’t veryarticulate in my ideas and my structure was a bit off.

Currently I have applied to Cambridge, Bristol, Durham, York and Cardiff.
Do I switch Durham for Manchester which doesn’t require the LNAT? I’m scared I’m going to be rejected fromall 3 LNAT unis if it went badly- does anyone know how lenient they might be considering my application as awhole?

Im in a similar situation as you, messed up my LNAT ;(... Ive already sent of my application, but what i recommend u do is send off your application to cambridge, bristol, york, and cardiff, and dont include a 5th. If u get an interview from Cambridge apply to Durham after, and if you get rejected pre-interview then apply Manchester. With ur stats tho maybe u should consider some other better unis for law? Warwick doesnt need the LNAT. Also if u send off 4/5 choices, since ur overqualified u might get a response back early e.g. from Bristol, so then u will essentially know if u messed up the LNAT or not. Either way if u want to send in all 5 choices, just stick to Durham, you have 2 alternatives anyway that are non LNAT.

Cambridge considers the LNAT as one of the most important elements of the application, the highest piece of evidence they have so far about you (that and the interview, which you obviously haven’t done yet)
Admissions tests are very important for Oxbridge, not as important for Durham and Bristol though. Manchester is also a very good uni to consider

Its natural to worry, everyone thinks they have messed up LNAT - but it sounds like you did okay actually. A 20-something score with good A level predictions will still be enough for Bristol, and most people only manage to write a few short paragraphs for the essay section. Try not to overthink this, whatever happens its all fixable - you can always take a gap year and reapply next year.
