ahh! I’m in my third year of my law degree and need some advice if anyone is willing to help a very confused undergrad!
In short, I know that I would like to go into the sector of Wills and probate- law of succession, qualifying as a solicitor.
However, I had a few questions about the process if anyone is willing to help me out.
My plan was to do a SQE based masters. Meaning, I would do 1 year of work in preparation for my SQE 1+2, followed by a 2 year training contract or paralegal work. (Paralegal work qualifies as 2 years QWE under SRA)
Can someone please confirm whether after my year doing a masters in preparation for the SQE, that id do the SQE exam straight after or if i would have to wait to do the exam after the 2 years QWE.
Or - would the route be that I do the 1 year masters in preparation for the SQE1+2, jump into a 2 year TC/QWE, then complete my exam after.
This might seem like the most random question and you’re probably thinking why do I not know this already. However, I thought i had it in control until other factors popped up and made me self doubt. I would just like confirmation that i can do
Masters SQE1+SQE2 — 2 years training contract
Or
Masters SQE1+SQE —- 2 years QWE
And if i would complete the SQE before or after the 2 year training contract or QWE?
Hopefully this makes sense, thank you! (Apologies, this is a ramble).
