Chances of being accepted St Andrews

Hi,

I’m applying for MChem Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at St Andrews this year.

I got 8As in Nat 5s, 5As Highers inc Bio, Chem, Maths, Eng and art.

I’m a Scottish student + go to a state school.
I’ve took adv bio chem and English, but I’m struggling and have no motivation in all. My targets for all are an A which will be given to St Andrews. However, the requirements are AAAAB.. And I’m already kinda giving up with them all. I really want to just get an unconditional and not worry but what are my chances?

Personal statement:
I’ve spoke about 3 books in my ps, done a supercurricular at cambridge and done a residential with their chemistry department, done online courses and virtual work experience. Also have wrote chemistry papers for school newspaper.. I do feel like it’s very content heavy though and I’ve not been able to go into detail on my passion for chemistry..

Are my chances not good cause I’m a Scottish student ? I hear they accept majority international!

Pls any help and tips before I send my application. I really need thisss

No-one can tell you for certain of you will get an offer from any University - but Chemistry is not a mega-competitive subject.
